My name is Ahmad Alomar. I’m a wildlife photographer living in Southern California. I’ve been practicing photography for about 13 years, although it was a bit casual until about 4 years ago.

When I was young, I was never happier than when I was learning about animals and nature; watching nature documentaries and focusing just as much on how they got the shot as I am on the animals themselves. One day, I decided to combine my love of nature with my love of art to capture the beautiful scenes all around us.

My love of nature led me to pursue a degree in environmental studies. By studying deeper the biggest issues affecting our planet and it’s inhabitants, it lit a passion within me to try my best to help the environment, the nature, the wildlife that I love so much. I had found a new element to incorporate into my wildlife photography - conservation.

I always strive to take the best photos I can, no matter what the subject is, but the real goal is to spark a sense of connection between the viewer and the subject. Whether you feel the pain of a tangled sea lion, the playful joy of a macaque, or the beauty of a whale fluke reflecting the sunset, the connection is what makes people care, and people protect what they care about.
